This is what the Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS) is for, and Coton & Hamblin are a MECS-accredited practice for the Greenwich area.

The South East London MECS service is designed for all ages, from birth upwards. So, whether it’s you, your child, or another loved one in your family, MECS can help.

  • Recent onset or sudden increase of flashes and/or floaters in one or both eyes (appearing like a fly, black specks, or a cobweb moving across your vision)

  • Mild trauma, such as a scratch to the outer surface of the eye(s) or lid(s)

  • Suspected foreign body in the eye
